Diane Laflamme, Bsc,DO

Professor at the CEO de Montreal

In Memoriam

It is with sorrow that we wanted to let you know that Diane Laflamme died during the night of December 21st to the 22nd from a terrible illness. This troubles us deeply. The directors of the College, her colleagues and friends offer their sincere condolences to her family.

An excellent teacher esteemed by her students and colleagues she was a source of inspiration to a number of people. Many students  at the Collèges d’études Ostéopathiques of Montreal Vancouver and Halifax, at the  Canadian College of Osteopathy at the Deutsches Osteopathie Kolleg and at the Swiss International college have had the chance to benefit from her precious advice in their research projects or to receive her excellent treatments.

She had wished to fight the cancer in silence, continuing with courage her daily activities. It is very difficult for us to speak about our colleague as she is present and will remain in our hearts.

Diane Laflamme was a generous person, strict and upright individual. She likes things to be clean, straightforward and sincere.  She did not like what was not just, tricks. No double standard for Diane.
When she corrected student copies, she was often heart broken when the she had to mark them poorly and the student did not succeed.  Each time it was possible, she would give students attentive advice giving them confidence and stimulating their efforts to succeed. She was an excellent teacher, precise, consistently updating her notes, her presentations to improve the way the material was conveyed. She listened to the students and helped them. Many have had the opportunity to have her as their thesis director. She always thought what she did and what she had verified. Her work as a teacher was exemplary and she will remain for us an essential presence within the walls of our college.

A very sensitive individual, she loved to dance and participated in dance contests. Passionate about dancing, she lent a hand in making her own dresses. She loved to laugh and had a great ability to listen.
I remember in Germany, in the evening after class and during lunch we would talk about life in general. She believed in another world where the conscience still had a journey and experiences to achieve. We would talk about the world and our mission in regards to the students.

Diane is more than all that and I also believe that effectively there is another world were our conscience evolves. We wish her a good voyage. I believe that each one of us will have a thought for her and that she will receive these thoughts.
