Influence of the Colleges in Canada and the world

The Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques (C.E.O.) has nurtured the development of Osteopathy in Quebec and Canada. The Canadian College of Osteopathy (C.C.O.) has now taken over the lead in Ontario and in the future, British Columbia.

The excellent reputation and the quality of the treatment offered by our previous graduates is the key element to the success of the Schools and Osteopathy. In 1992, a survey published by the newspaper ‘La Presse’ revealed that the public rated Osteopathy first in the treatment satisfaction index.

The C.E.O. and its members initiated discussions with the Office des Professions du Québec for the recognition of the osteopathic profession. A few years later, its academic program served as a model for a presentation before the Quebec National Assembly. Socially, the College has promoted Osteopathy to institutions and personalities in the political and economic areas. The  Fondation Canadienne pour l’Enseignement et la Recherche en Ostéopathie (F.C.E.R.O.), with the support of the Collège d’Études Ostéopatiques (CEO) organised six galas, including  the gala held for the 25th anniversary of the Place des Arts. Among the patrons of honour for these evenings, we were fortunate and privileged to gain the support of Her Excellency Jeanne Sauvé, Governor General, and most recently, from our Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, the Honourable Lise Thibault, for a concert organised with Angèle Dubeau and la Pietà. At this occasion, we explained the importance of Osteopathy for the population as well as promoting the treatment given to young children of the Foundation.

Several Osteopaths of the C.E.O. and the C.C.O. have been hired to offer their skills to renown athletes and artists within high profile organisations, such as the major hockey and basketball leagues, tennis and ski federations, certain national Olympic teams for the Sydney Games, the Opéra de Paris, the Grands Ballets Canadiens, the National Ballet, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, the Cirque du Soleil, etc.

Several of our teachers offer continuing education training in the United States and Europe.

You are invited to participate in our future events and share your ideas to promote the tradition of Osteopathic manual Practice.
