Policy regarding the Protection of Personal Information

This policy regarding the protection of personal information (the “Policy”) supplements the provisions of an agreement regarding the use of CEO’s (Osteopathic Studies) Inc. (the   “Website) located at www.ceo.qc.com and forms part of that Agreement, CEO’s (Osteopathic Studies) Inc. also doing business as the Canadian College of Osteopathy (hereafter collectively designated as the “CEO”, “we” or “us”).

We have created this Policy in order to inform you of our practice concerning the protection of personal information. This Policy applies to the personal information gathered through the Website.

Throughout this Policy, “Personal Information shall mean the information relating to an individual and allowing for his or her identification.

Information collected

When you do register as a member, you obtain a user name and a password for the Website or contact us by other means, we do gather the Personal Information which you volunteer. Such information may include: your first and last names, occupation, date of birth as well as your home, place of business and e-mails addresses and your telephone numbers. This information shall be used in order to:

  • answer your questions on us and on the services we provide;

  • confirm your identity when you have forgotten your username or password;

  • answer your requests for information;

  • register you to the various courses and workshops we do offer;

  • for your online purchases; and

  • ensure we do comply with the various laws and regulations then in effect.

CEO has implemented reasonable security measures in order to protect the confidentiality of Personal Information which we do hold or control. The CEO may not however guarantee the security or confidentiality of the Personal Information which you do supply to us.

Personal Information regarding a third party

Should you communicate to us any Personal Information on a third party, you do declare having obtained the authorization from this third party in order to do so, the whole in accordance with this Policy.

Divulging Personal Information

We shall be entitled to divulge your Personal Information to third parties with your consent. In addition thereto, we shall be entitled to divulge this information to:

  • collect and manage your payments and we shall divulge your Personal Information to our bankers and to our financial managing services providers; and

  • fulfill our legal and professional obligations, or otherwise, as allowed by law.

As an example, your consent may implicitly result from the fact you have supplied Personal Information to us, in order for us to supply a service or answer a query. Should you choose to supply Personal Information to the CEO, in this instance, it shall then be taken for granted you have given your consent to the gathering, use and divulgation of Personal Information as provided for in this Policy. Should you not want to consent to such gathering, use or divulgation, please do not supply and Personal Information or avail yourself of the non participating options offered, as need be.

Access to and correction of Personal Information

The file containing your Personal Information shall be kept at our offices, on our servers or that of our agents, representatives or services providers. Access to this file is restricted to our employees or that of our representatives or services providers as required within the scope of their tasks. Updating Personal Information

We do retain the right to change this policy at any time and without any prior notice. Should we modify our practices pertaining to Personal Information, we shall then post the changes on the Website before they take effect, in order to inform you. The use of the Website following such posting does carry your acceptance of the modified version of the Policy which may be viewed at any time on our Website.
